Scilly seals on Wetpixel

Peter Rowlands of UwP Magazine has posted this video of common (harbor) (Phoca vitulina) and grey ((Halichoerus grypus) seals shot in the Scilly Isles off the south-western tip of the UK. He describes the encounter:

We had a seal encounter dive in 15 metres which we thought was amazing with some good interaction including dome inspections from whiskered noses but this turned out to be nothing compared to our last day in 5 metres of brightly lit water on the north-east coast. The water was sheltered and the string weed brightly lit. Several seal heads bobbed up so we kitted up expecting to have a few minutes with them before they got bored on moved off. What happened was a 40 minute treat of seal interaction totally controlled by them. Steve and I just hung- out in the string weed above the green seaweed covered seabed and let them approach as they wanted. The result was encounters on their terms which made it all the more special.

I was using a Sony NEX-5 in an Acquapazza housing with the fisheye lens (24mm equivalent plus fisheye adaptor) behind an Inon dome port with a GreenWater Magic filter, manual white balance and available light.
