The list includes several stunning underwater images from National Geographic underwater photographers Brian Skerry, David Doubilet, Jennifer Hayes, Laurent Ballesta, and Thomas Peschak, in locations such as Baja, Mexico and Tubbataha.

Underwater photos snag top places in NG Nature Photographer of the Year contest

Winners of the National Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year 2016 contest have been announced. The grand prize this year has gone to an underwater photograph by Greg Lecoeur. The winners this year include include incredible images from above and below the water. Grand prize is a 10-day trip for two to the Galapagos Islands with National Geographic Expeditions.
