SharkBase is soliciting help from citizen scientists to better understand “the distribution of sharks globally” and to “use this information to infer patterns of marine ecosystem health”. Individuals can log either their own or other’s shark encounters, either their own or other’s, encourage clubs and tourism operators to do so, to conduct projects using data from the SharkBase database, to give talks or lectures and to share sighting on social media.
