RGBlue announces image magnifier

RGBlue has released a magnification system that enlarges the view of a camera’s LCD screen. The magnifier uses “light condensing lens technology” to overcome the loss in magnification caused by water contact with the lens. The company has also released a micro flex arm to mount the magnifier.

Screen Magnifier RMGF-1

Normally, a magnifier works by making use of the difference between the refractive indexes of air and the lens (glass or acrylic) to enlarge an image. Underwater, however, the difference in the refractive indexes is much smaller, restricting the magnifying effect.

RGBlue has developed an image magnifier capable of providing similar magnification even underwater by applying the light condensing lens technology developed for the System01/System02 underwater lights.

The magnifier is shaped like a large 4-inch screen to assure optimal magnification of the image displayed on the camera’s LCD monitor.

Micro Flex Arm RFLA-1 This ultracompact arm system allows the Screen Magnifier to be mounted on a wide range of waterproof cases and freely positioned as required for comfortable underwater shooting.

The parts are made from shaved aluminum, ensuring that the arm’s position can be fixed securely underwater.
