Registration for the Monterey Shootout is now open

This year’s Monterey Shootout is now open for registration. The event is in its 33rd year of hosting divers from all over to photograph Monterey Bay underwater for 3-days.

The Northern California Underwater Photography Society (NCUPS) proudly announces the 2014 Monterey Shootout.

The Monterey Shootout will be held August 8-10, 2014.

On this weekend, SCUBA divers from all over the United States will converge on Monterey, California, to sharpen their underwater photography skills and compete for over $25,000.00 in prizes. For 33 years running, this is one of the most exceptional underwater photo contests in the United States.

During this three-day event, participants are offered seminar courses that are sure to teach them new underwater photo and video techniques. Diving and image taking is open for the first 32-hours of the competition. All amateur underwater photographers and videographers are welcome. Digital photos and videos must be taken from dives during the 32-hour competition period along the Monterey coastline.

We are excited to once again offer Monterey Shootout participants FREE entry into the Monterey Underwater Film Festival held at the beautiful historic Golden State Theatre on Saturday evening, August 9, 2014. Here’s a quick look at this year’s show:

Erick Higuera – Bluewater Giants of Baja  The Film Festival is included with full Monterey Shootout competition registration. Additional Individual Film Festival tickets are available to the public for $15.00 for adults and $10 for children under 12. This will be a very special evening that you won’t want to miss!
